At Proudpaws, we believe responsible breeding begins long before puppies are born.
Every planned litter represents years of careful thought, health research and a genuine commitment to producing Labrador Retrievers and Clumber Spaniels that will enrich the lives of the families who welcome them home.
Our goal has never been simply to plan a litter.
Our goal is to build on each generation we are proud to put the Proudpaws name behind for the rest of their lives.

Temperament Comes First
A beautiful pedigree means very little if a dog cannot become a confident, dependable family companion.
Temperament is one of the most important traits we consider when planning a litter.
We strive to build on each generation of dogs that are:
Calm and stable
Confident without being overbearing
Adaptable to family life
Eager to learn
Capable of relaxing at home as well as enjoying an active lifestyle
For our Labrador Retrievers, this means preserving the versatile, steady temperament that made the breed one of the world’s most loved family companions. While many of our dogs are capable of working, we aim for Labradors with an “off switch”—dogs that can enjoy activity but are equally content settling beside their families at the end of the day.

Health Matters
Health testing isn’t something we do because it’s expected.
We do it because every breeding decision should be made with the future in mind.
We carefully health screen our breeding dogs and consider pedigree, structure and temperament together when planning each litter.
Our goal is always to give every puppy the healthiest possible start in life.

Every Puppy Deserves the Best Start
The weeks spent with a breeder shape a puppy’s future.
From an early age, our puppies are introduced to everyday experiences, people and environments that help build confidence and resilience.
These early experiences are designed to prepare them for the transition into family life and provide the foundations for ongoing training.
Because temperament is so important to us, every puppy receives the same careful beginning—whether they are joining a family as a beloved companion or later continue toward therapy, assistance or other working roles with appropriate training and assessment.

Our two breeds each have their own unique purpose.
Labrador Retrievers
We are passionate about producing Labradors that remain true to the qualities that have made the breed a favourite for generations: sound health, stable temperaments, intelligence and versatility.
Clumber Spaniels
As a comparatively rare breed, Clumber Spaniels deserve careful stewardship. Every planned litter is an opportunity to contribute positively to the future of the breed while preserving the qualities that make Clumbers so special.

A Lifetime Commitment
One promise has always remained unchanged.
Every Proudpaws dog is bred with its entire lifetime in mind.
If circumstances ever change and one of our dogs needs somewhere to go, they will always have a place with us.
That commitment doesn’t end when a puppy leaves our home—it continues for the life of every dog we breed.
